Giving Back: Shine The Light Initiative
Integrated into the fabric of Shine Dental clinic is the belief that it’s necessary to compassionately give back to our community here in Winnipeg and abroad.
In 2005, Dr. Brent and his wife, Wendy, started the Shine The Light Initiative, which brings free dental and medical care, in addition to home building, job skills training, and fair trade agreements for artisans in the Dominican Republic. Since its inception, they have completed more than 60 trips around the world and built more than 100 homes.
All patients at Shine Dental help us maintain our work with Shine The Light, but if you’re interested in getting involved through donations, volunteering with us, or attending our annual gala, visit our website.
Insurance and Payment Information
We want to help you receive the dental care you deserve. We discuss all costs and payment options with you in advance, to make sure you are comfortable with your treatment plan. You will never have surprises when it comes to your bill.
In addition to direct billing to most major insurance providers, we also accept patients through the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and provide flexible financing options for those without insurance. If you have any questions about your treatment plan or payment options, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Third-Party Financing Options
Invest in your health with our flexible financing options. You may choose to take up to 5 years to pay for your treatment, choosing from a variety of monthly payment options with a low, non-compounding, fixed interest rate that fits your budget!

We accept payment via cash, e-transfers, debit and credit cards.
5% Pre-payment Discount – if you pay cash, debit or e-transfer for treatment in full by at least the day before you start treatment.*
3% Pre-payment Discount – if you pay by credit card for treatment in full by at least the day before you start treatment.*
For example, if you are starting treatment on Friday, you must pay for your treatment in full on or before the Thursday before your appointment to qualify for either of these discounts.
If prior financial arrangements or options have not been made, we require all payments on the day you complete your treatment. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our office!
*Please note that lab fees, dental implant treatments, TMJ/Sleep Apnea appliances, promotions or already discounted treatment plans do not qualify for these additional discounts.

Giving Back: Shine The Light Initiative
Giving back to our community is a tenet of the Shine Dental ethos. Dr. Brent Wong, owner of Shine Dental, and his wife, Wendy, began Shine The Light in 2005 as a way to bridge the gap between people who want to help and those who need it most.
Since its inception, Shine The Light has helped build over 100 homes and brings free dental and medical care to those in need in the Dominican Republic. As the organization has developed, they’ve added skilled trade training and far•o Supply Co, which focuses on strengthening economic independence for trainees and artisans in DR.
